Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix Release Date Announced

After 9 years, Kingdom Hearts 2 is headed to PlayStation 3 consoles, with a few of its friends. This HD remake collection (titled Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix) will include the Final Mix edition of the fan favourite title, as well as the PSP title Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, and remastered cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded which was released originally for cell phones in Japan, and the Nintendo DS everywhere else.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix was released in 2013, which included Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Gameboy Advance title Chain of Memories, and cinematics from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. This not only started the adventure, but bridged the gap between the two main, numbered titles. The 2.5 collection will then further bridge 1.5 and 2.5, and possibly look to the future, as we anxiously wait for Kingdom Hearts 3.

In an attempt to stave off the waves of impatience that is likely hitting Square Enix's inboxes, not only did the developers release a trailer announcing a global December 2, 2014 release date, they also gave us the tiniest teaser for Kingdom Hearts 3, again simply reminding us that it's "in development". Hopefully, this is just an appetizer for a more substantial look at the game at E3 next week. Enjoy the trailer, and stay tuned to BWP as we cover your E3 news needs beginning Monday, June 9, through Thursday, June 12.
