Arnold Schwarzenegger Teams With David Ayer For 'Sabotage' [Trailer]

While Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to the big screen hasn't translated into the box office dollars he used to draw as an action star in his heyday, it's hard to argue against the fact that his new run has been a success at least in terms of quality. The Expendables 2, The Last Stand and Escape Plan have all been serviceable action films, and the run is only going to continue the next couple of years with a bevy of new films from the former governor of California, including the Twins Sequel Triplets, a zombie movie Maggie, new Terminator and Conan films which he's attached to, The Expendables 3, as well as next year's Sabotage (no, not the Beastie Boys song).

The latter film probably has the best chance of justifying Arnold's most memorable "I'm Back" catchphrase too, as it looks like the best movie that he's been attached to since his return to the big screen. The biggest factor is that the film is directed by the insanely underrated David Ayer, the man behind Training Day, SWAT, U-571 and one of our favorite movies last year, End Of Watch, with a script from Skip Woods (that we're less comfortable boasting about).

The film itself follows a DEA task force led by John "Breacher" Wharton (Arnold). After what seems like a routine meth bust, the members of his team start getting killed by the cartel one by one when $10 million goes missing, and one (or more) of them is accused of having stolen it. Eventually, Arnold goes on a warpath of revenge.

Here's the trailer:

Sabotage definitely looks like Arnold's most adult film since his return, and that might help him draw better box office numbers when the film hits theaters April11th, 2014. He'll be supported by Sam Worthington, who looks almost unrecognizable with a shaved head and facial hair, as well as Mireille Enos, Terrence Howard, and Olivia Williams.
