Don Jon Trailer: Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Philosophical Debate for the Modern Age

Is there anything Joseph Gordon-Levitt can’t do?

The star of (500) Days of Summer, Inception, 50/50, and Looper can do pretty much whatever he pleases. He has the aw-shucks smile, the acting chops, and the popularity to take on whatever project he desires. Apparently, that desire includes writing, directing, and starring in the film Don Jon.

With smart characters, a cerebral concept, and a cast that includes Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore and Tony Danza, Don Jon looks like it could be the best, most accessible analysis of diametrically opposed philosophies since the Bioshock series.

Okay, it’s about a guy addicted to internet porn. His girlfriend isn’t too keen on it. Still, it’s an important issue, and Gordon-Levitt seems to love this role. The trailer is funny, a little offbeat, and definitely interesting. This could wind up being a pretty special film.

It hits theatres October 18.

Trailer looks great. If Joseph Gordon-Levitt's writing/directing is half as good as his acting his already impressive career is going to be amazing.

Tough role for Scarlet Johansson - female Jersey accents are difficult to replicate because even the genuine one's sound so contrived. She sounds accurate though, which is probably not a good thing haha.
