The Dark Knight Rises First Teaser Poster
We'll likely have to wait until this weekend to see the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Batman sequel, The Dark Knight Rises, but Warner Bros. is already prepping the well-oiled hype machine for the upcoming blockbuster.
Today, the distributor released the first poster for the movie, and it's very much like previous Batman / Chris Nolan posters:
While it's not exactly like any posters from Nolan's previous film, Inception, it definitely maintains certain properties from that movie, with very large, crumbling skyscrapers, albeit, in this case, with a bat logo. For example, take a look at this one or this one.
We're not saying that Nolan has an inferiority complex or anything, just that he really likes big buildings on his posters. Another example:
Regardless of how much it reminds us of Inception, it's definitely in line with previous batman posters, as The Dark Knight had one of Batman looking over Gotham, and another of him standing in front of a building with a blazing Batman logo.
Was this post just an excuse to show off a bunch of cool movie posters? Maybe. But just another reason to get further excited for The Dark Knight Rises, which is set to hit theaters on July 20, 2012, and will star returning castmembers Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman, and new additions Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Anne Hathaway.
