Rockstar Games announces Grand Theft Auto V

Rockstar Games has officially announced GTA5 via its website. There are literally no details at this time, just a date for the first trailer: November 2nd.

This shouldn't come as too big a surprise to anyone, as GTA is one of the most successful franchises in gaming, and the last entry into the franchise was released three and a half years ago.

So, keep an eye out for that trailer! In the mean time, what do you think the next Grand Theft Auto has in store for us?

There isn't an appropriate amount of excitement in this post!!!!!!! I think I just shed a tear.

I don't know why it takes them so long to make new ones. It's basically the same thing over and over, just looks better than the previous one. As you can tell, I'm not excited lol GTA4 literally made me fall asleep while playing!

I disagree, GTA IV was completely different from the games before it, with an emphasis on graphics and mechanics. I thought it was boring the first time too, but the more you play it, the more you appreciate it. You almost have to consider it a sim. If you want fun, you gotta get the DLC, they more than made up for it too. And Rockstar seldom makes the same game twice anymore lol. They build entire new cities for each game.

That said, they proved their point about graphics and mechanics, now they need to go back to fun.

By the looks of the logo and some talk online, I think the city could be Washington.

I'm only playing GTA4 now finally. They'll never top Vice City in my opinion, that was the best GTA. While the others have been great as well, none have been as polished.

I prefer San Andreas to Vice City, outside of the soundtrack. It's basically Vice City but 5 times the size anyway lol.

But ya, both of you need to play The Ballad of Gay Tony.

Let me finish playing GTA4 first and I'll get to the dlc's. San Andreas was too big, and it wasn't as engaging. And as for the game, I think its based around the Vancouver Stanley Cup riots.

No, that's Modern Warfare 3.

Honestly they're completely different stories, you won't lose anything if you play them before you finish I don't think but I could be wrong. In any case, put it on your list.

As for San Andreas, I think I preferred the story to Vice City, which was just a straight ripoff of Miami Vice + Goodfellas (not saying that's a bad thing, San Andreas ripped off Boyz in the Hood lol) and I loved how diverse it was, and it added a lot from Vice City. I don't think it was too big, because the game allowed you to not have to go everywhere. A lot of it was just there, if that makes sense, and I loved that.

I thought Vice City was a complete rip off of Scarface, especially the house.

San Andreas definitely tops Vice City. GTA IV was my favourite one, best lead character by far. All I want is the damn garages back.

If you think Vice City is a ripoff and San Andreas isn't then you're a racist? Tongue

But seriously, IV's strength is probably that it was original for the most part, in terms of story. Gotta bring that fun factor back though.

I don't see any new features for this, I still like the previous version, or just play my own games at http://www.izombiegames.com/defense
